Welcome to all athletes, coaches, parents, and spectators:

Directions to the meet:

Take Highway 63 North to the Broadway Exit at Columbia, go west (left) over the overpass on Broadway and proceed to the bottom of the hill. You will drive over a bridge and then take the next right onto a small blacktop road, the road immediately splits – you can go right to park, if that is full then turn around and go to the top of the hill parking lot, there is a western lot and a northern lot also, please refer to the map attached. PLEASE INSTRUCT THE DRIVERS NOT TO PARK ON SIDE OF ROAD OR ACROSS THE STREET AT EASTGATE STORE, OR THE CITY WILL TOW YOUR VEHICLE. I HAVE ATTACHED A MAP THAT MARKS IN BOXES WHERE YOU CAN PARK AND PAINTED "IN RED" WHERE YOU CANNOT. The parks department WILL have any vehicle towed that is parked on ANY ROADWAY. Please pass this map onto all those who will drive up for the meet. These people do NOT kid around, Columbia would love to make money by towing innocent folks cars, they would love it.

The Course:

The layout of the course is challenging, but also has the benefit to the spectators of being able to watch much of the meet from one spot at a high point on the course. We hope that this event is one that will continue for many, many years. It is our great pleasure to have your athletes compete for both the team trophies, and the individual awards that will be won. PALS is a great program, we are honored to be a member.

Meet Schedule:

Coaches Meeting will be at 4:15 P.M. To help with results compilation we will run the boys first (more numerous, followed by the girls.

Boys race will begin at 4:30 P.M.

Girls race will begin at the conclusion of the Boys race (approx. 4:50 P.M.)

Instructions to the Team Coaches:

In order to insure the prompt, accurate, and timely scoring of the event and distribution of awards, please do the following:

Designate an adult “coach” (if other than yourself) to be at the finish line to collect and fill out the place cards that will be handed to the athletes as they cross the line. The said coach will need to do 3 things with the cards, MAKE SURE ALL OF YOUR ATHLETES KNOW WHO TO GIVE THEIR CARDS TO.

First, the team name MUST be written on the finish card.

Second, the name of the athlete needs to be written down on the card in the designated place on the finish card.

Third, once all the athletes of the team have crossed the finish line, and all the cards are completed, they must be placed in the team envelope (either boy (blue) or girl (pink) envelope and delivered to the scorekeeper near the finish line as soon as possible.
