The Spring 2026 Heart of Missouri Girls on the Run Celebration 5k is scheduled for Saturday, May 9th, at Stephens Lake Park, 2001 E Broadway, Columbia, MO 65201.

Unlike any other running event, the Heart of Missouri Girls on the Run 5k is a celebration of and for the girls who are completing a Girls on the Run season. Participants will experience the unbridled enthusiasm of girls in grades 3-5 and 6-8 who have spent 10 weeks working on self-discovery, community service, and appreciation for others. During this time, they have also been training to run this 5k. Positive energy abounds as the girls dance to warm-up music and get their hair “happied” and "tattoos" on their faces. They then gather with their teammates and hold hands as they head to the starting line. Our 5K is a non-competitive event that will put a smile on your face! Your participation will bring you a sense of joy and appreciation for the hard work the girls have put into becoming the best versions of themselves. It also benefits our scholarship program, and through participation, you're providing opportunities for all girls to be their best through participation in Girls on the Run! bag and 

Community runners may arrive anytime after 9 am. As a community runner, you will receive a t-shirt and race bag, and access to pre-race activities.
