Bring the Energy. Mentor the Next Generation.

Join the College Ambassador Hype Squad for the CTC Summer Youth Series.

Be a Hero to 300 Local Kids

The Columbia Track Club Summer Youth Series is a grassroots, community-run event, and we want local collegiate student-athletes to be the faces of the meet. To these kids, you are the pros.

We aren't looking for you to do heavy paperwork, data entry, or administrative tasks. We want you to be our Hype Squad. Whether you are giving out high-fives at the finish line, walking 6-year-olds to their starting blocks, or giving quick tips at the long jump pit, you are setting the tone for the entire night.

This is a low-stress, high-impact way to earn community service hours, give back to the grassroots track community, and help kids fall in love with the sport!

The Schedule

  • When: Four Wednesdays in June (June 3, 10, 17, 24).

What You Get: A free CTC Safety Green crew shirt, snacks and water during the meet, community service hours, and a great evening outside.

Kickoff Pizza Dinner All Ambassadors and volunteers are invited to a free kickoff dinner on Wednesday, May 27 at 6:00 PM. We will eat pizza, hand out your shirts, and walk through the track flow so everyone is comfortable before Week 1. (Location is TBD, but we will email you the exact spot soon!)

Where You Can Bring the Energy

This year, we have simplified how the meet runs. Athletes have pre-printed bibs and results are digital, meaning your only job is to keep the meet fun and moving. You can choose where you'd like to help.

  • Hang out in center field with the kids waiting to race. Lead fun stretches, ask them about their favorite events, help calm their nerves, and get them smiling before they walk to the line.

  • This is the loudest spot on the track. Give high-fives, cheer kids through the finish funnel, and keep the stoke high as they finish their races.

  • Hang out on the infield grass along the straightaways. Cheer loudly, run on the infield grass alongside the kids who are struggling, and keep the energy electric around the whole track.

  • Hang out at the jump pit or the throw circle. Offer quick, friendly tips, clap for their efforts, and encourage the kids trying field events.
